Primary Responsibilities
Associates work on a team responsible for preparing individual, business, and trust tax returns. Associates perform a variety of tax-related responsibilities and build a platform of knowledge, strengthen skills in communications and sustain trusted relationships. Other position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Follow through the scanning and verification processes.
- Assist with the completion of portions of larger, complex individual, business and trust tax returns.
- Organize client records, accounting information and remain focused on timely submission of individual work to support the department workflow process.
- Complete tax research assignments or participate in special projects.
- Maintain ownership of assigned work while looking for opportunities to become a resource within the tax team.
- Demonstrate skills in the areas of time management, communication, interpersonal skills, relationship building, collaboration and problem solving.
Qualifications
- Earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or related business program) maintaining 3.0 GPA.
- Desires to achieve CPA and/or Master’s Degree and may have coursework built in to a college curriculum for this track; is anticipating a career with a public accounting firm.
- Experience may include internships or having performed entry-level accounting work.
- Self-managed and detail oriented.
- Proficiency with computers and in the use of software and spreadsheet programs.
- Ability to multitask and complete assignments within time constraints.
- Ability to learn independently and as a part of a team.
- Ability to conduct daily work with a professional and cooperative attitude.
- Ability to maintain excellent interpersonal communication skills to build strong internal colleague and external client relationships.
The full-time position is 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday. During the busy season Tax Associates will work up to 50 hours per week. Remote work hours are available after completing tax department development training.
